Name: K'sek
Age: 29
Residence: Dawning Light Weyr
Dragon Color: Brown
Dragon Name: Tainth
Dragon Age: 14
Brief Description of Persona:
K'sek is tall, dark, and handsome. His hair is black, his eyes light
blue,
his skin well tanned, and his face ruggedly handsome. Muscular,
athletic,
and unafraid to flaunt everything, he gets many second looks from girls
and
guys alike. K'sek is a bit of a loner. He doesn't want to get too close to anyone,
not
anymore; he's too afraid to care and then lose. He comes across as
cool,
aloof, and arrogant, prideful in his flying skills. In fact, he flaunts
them...in drills.
In Fall K'sek is completely different. While not terrified of Fall, it
bothers him. A lot. Knowing it is his duty, he flies to meet it and
flame
it, though he would much prefer to be doing administrative duties,
being
grounded, or anything _but_ fighting Thread. K'sek honors duty, the Wing, and the Weyr. There is nothing he would
rather
do than ride a dragon. He believes that everyone in a wing should honor
and
trust each other, and that Wing members should have an unbreakable
comraderie. Unfortunately, he's rather good at ruining that feeling
with his
veiled insolence and arrogance.
Brief History of Persona:
Born at Fort Weyr, Kellsek's parents were both riders. K'lan (once
Kellan)
and Keira fostered their son, and four Turns later his sister, Keleira,
was
fostered to a holdr couple beholden to Fort Hold. He had a Turn older
brother who had already been fostered to Keira's sister Serra, who
pretended
that Keiran was her own son.
Kell was always proud of himself. Being a goldrider's son and fostered
by
the Headwoman made him special, even if his father was 'only' a
brownrider.
The other weyrbrats respected him for his lineage, and he made sure
they
respected him for his skills too. He lorded over them, never making
friends,
just enemies and followers.
Kell knew, just knew, he'd be a rider. And, of course, he was allowed
to
Stand. At fifteen he Impressed, fulfilling his dream...but it was a
brown,
the same color he'd scorned as lowly. Still, he loved his Tainth.
He outperformed everyone else, even the bronzerider, in weyrling
training,
and was assigned to the best Wing immediately after graduation. All was
going well for K'sek, though he still resented his father.
Then Thread began to fall. That was okay; dragons were bred for
fighting. It
should be no problem, everyone felt. But one day, in one of the first
Falls,
all the Thread was in large clumps. On that day K'sek saw his father
and
sister be scored and die. His father's dragon blinked /between/ to
avoid one
clump and emerged in another. Plummeting towards the ground, much of
his was
consumed before finally, mercifally, the /betweened/ forever. Loose
riding
straps combined with high winds caused his sister Keleira to fall from
her
dragon, who was Threadscored while diving for her. While the pair
survived
(Keleira was caught by another rider), they were horribly scarred, and
they
left Fort.
K'sek, stunned, tried to cope. While he wants to see all Thread
eradicated,
he knows he'd rather someone else do the eradicating. He asked for (and
got)
an administrative, non-flying job for a few months while he attempted
to
recuperate. After he returned to duty, he flew Thread again, but he
still
carries a deepseated fear.
Meanwhile his mother was wasting; he was all she had. One day he
learned of
his brother and began to search for him, but failed. His mother sunk
into
decline and passed on much of her duties to other goldriders. Fearing
she
was going to die, K'sek chose to transfer to Dawning Light Weyr in the
south
to leave everything behind.
Brief Description of Dragon:
Tainth is a perfect brown, in terms of size and proportions. Nothing
remarkable, he's just average, a fact that bothers his flamboyant
rider. A
good mix of stamina and manueverability and a nice russet color that
gets
plenty of comments. Personalitywise he's a good old brown: solid, reliable, and the one to
check
his rider's ego. Unlike his rider he enjoys flying Fall, and charges
into it
all cheerful. Like his rider, he shows off to anyone who will watch. He
knows that even though his lifemate loves him he wanted a bronze, so
Tainth
tries as hard as possible to make up for being the wrong color.
