Brief Description of Persona:

  • A thick fluff of wavy buff blond hair sits atop a cute little face dominated by large dove gray eyes. Javi is a small little boy, short for his age but lacking in baby fat that would make him round. Being as small as he is, he has a knack for going unnoticed, several of the Weyrfolk in his new home finding themselves surprised when a tousle-headed little creature makes his self known after several candlemarks of tagging along behind them. Javi somehow always gets shirts too large for him, the sleeves just long enough to cover his hands. These portions are constantly gripped by little fingers and wrung absent-mindedly as he investigates new findings. In short, Javi is cuteness personified.

    If Javi’s eyes are his most dominant feature, than the most dominant emotion glimpsed in those eyes has to be curiosity. Like any little boy, Javi loves to discover and loves having adventures, but more than other little boys, Javi lives for asking questions and learning new things. Most of his days at Dawning Light are now taken up by shadowing riders or crafters, silently watching them go about their business none the wiser. In that way, Javi builds up a startling amount of information on people, but he is yet of an age where holding that against those he watches never occurs to him. If anything excites this little boy, it’s to be included in something. Even the most mundane task can have him wriggling in pleasure if the other person is smart enough to make the chore sound like some kind of adventure – or even simply state that they’d like to have Javi along. He is a very loving little boy, eager to please, quick to trust, and very responsive to affection.

    Brief History of Persona:

  • Javi entered life poking around tide pools and stalking spider-legs at a seacrafthall in the North. His parents – two sea… people – kept Javi to raise as their own, but the little boy grew up as more of a communal son, answering to many different ‘parents’ throughout the hall, so that he was a true hallbrat in every sense of the term. Even so, when the ship his true mother and father worked on didn’t return from a deep-sea fishing trip, Javi was inconsolable and the bright little flame he had always been seemed to flicker and wane. Concerned for his well-being, friends of his parents decided that perhaps fostering him out and removing him from scenery stoked with memories might be a good idea. With the entire hall claiming interest with just where their little Whirlpool ended up, many candidates were considered. A visiting harper heard their plight and told them the story of a young greenrider from High Reaches ™ that was being transferred to a Southern Weyr for recuperation after a taxing illness. The Southern Weyr was Dawning Light, which boasted several foster parents and well-adjusted weyrbrats. That decision made, the seacrafters contacted young A’lyn, the ailing greenrider, and secured transport for Javi to Dawning Light. Completely new to Dawning Light, without a friend in the world, Javi has taken to following dragonriders around and generally getting under foot like nobody’s business, haunting the Weyrfolk with his constant questions and curiosity.
