Name: Ardea
Age: 37
Craft: Tailor
Rank: Sr.Journeywoman
Brief Description of Persona:
Ardea is a tall woman, almost six feet. She
has a looong neck and loooong legs, high cheekbones, and pale skin. Out of her
family she is the most classically beautiful, in an icy sort of way. She's an
elegent person, and always can be found in dresses and adorned with jewellry.
Despite the measured beauty of her movements, she's not a very athletic woman
and would never been able to handle the life of a dragonrider (or even a
candidate). Her lifestyle is a sedate, calm one. Like her sisters she is a dark
brunette, and her eyes are a hazel-grey.
Ardea is an insecure and sensitive woman
hiding behind a thick mask of a cool, slightly impersonal woman. Very few people
can see behind this presence, and most think of her as confident, perhaps a
little intimidating, perhaps a little cool and calculating; for a side-effect of
this mask is that little of her true feelings, true thoughts, and true emotions
are revealed. After the tragic earthquake in which she lost half of her family,
Ardea unconsciously thought it would be best if she simply was very careful to
keep distance between herself and anything that would require her to get
emotionally involved. She is too scared of losing anyone again to risk getting
attatched. Her outside personality is smooth and reasonably charming without
being particularly memorable (or at least she tries not to be memorable). Ardea
is fanatically neat and can get obessive about getting the details right - not
always a bad thing in tailoring, not always a good thing in everyday life. In
skill she is a good journeywoman, but doesn't have the extra talent needed to
attain mastership.
Brief Description of History:
Ardea is the oldest of four children born to a family
of hold residents at BRH. She was loved and her quiet sensitivity protected and
nourished, and her childhood was happy. She became an apprentice tailor at
eleven; Ardea's keen eye for the fit of an outfit and good taste, even at a
young age, made it a natural choice. She remained at BRH during her
apprenticeship and only (reluctantly) moved to the Tailorcraft Hall to walk the
tables and spend a few years perfecting her craft. She has no desire to become a
master and so returned to BRH after graduating to senior journeywoman. During
the earthquake she and most of her family were close to the epicenter, and she
was one of the few to survive. The trauma scored her deeply, and she requested
at transfer to Coral Reef Weyr a few months later.
